For most beginner-friendly accessories, no. The products we suggest (like door edge guards, valve stem caps, magnetic lights, and bumper protectors) are designed to be installed with:

Your hands (for sliding on U-channel trims).

A microfiber cloth (for cleaning the surface).

Maybe a hair dryer (to warm up tape in winter for better stick).
Note: If you are wiring DRLs or hardwiring a dash cam, you will need a basic wire stripper and a multimeter, but those are cheap to buy!

Surface Prep is 90% of the job. If tape fails, it's almost always because the surface wasn't clean.

Clean: Use rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) . Soap and water leave a residue. Alcohol removes all wax and grease.

Dry: Make sure it's completely dry.

Warm it up: If it's below 60°F (15°C), use a hair dryer to warm the surface AND the tape before sticking. This activates the adhesive.

Pressure: Press firmly for 60 seconds.

Wait: Don't wash the car for 24-48 hours to let the adhesive cure.

For wireless/magnetic lights: No. Just stick them on.
For wired lights (like DRLs or interior footwell lights): It is highly recommended.

Why: It prevents you from accidentally shorting a fuse or creating a spark near battery terminals.

Beginner Rule: If you see bare wires and wire taps, disconnect the negative (-) terminal on your battery before you start. Once everything is connected and taped up, reconnect it.
